Black Kid's Partie Traumatic

Jacksonville's Black Kids debut LP release Partie Traumatic has begun its inaugural lap around the internet. For me personally this will be a testament to see if the young band can fill the very large shoes the success of their singles I'm Not Gonna Teach Your Boyfriend How To Dance With You and Hurricane Jane have cobbled for them.

Their success also signals a new echelon in the music industry. They represent the possibility of that temporal myspace generation of bands and solidify the music blog and streaming websites as a viable if not preferential marketing strategy for said bands.

Twelves remix Black Kids and LA Riots are ready for the floor

Brazil is more than just an Arcade Fire song. It's also home to CSS of ipod fame and the reason for today's post, The Twelves. A few weeks ago we posted some tracks by Jacksonville's Black Kids and just recently The Twelves have dropped a remix of the hit song from the Black Kid's EP Wizard of Ahhhs I'm not gonna teach your boyfriend how to dance with you. check it.

In addition LA Riots and Villians have teamed up to produce a Ready for the Floor remix actually worth blogging about. This Hot Chip track has already been remixed to death but trust me when i say this one is worth checking out.

On Black Kids

My train of thought whilst i was checking out Black Kids on myspace. These guys and girls have some seriously catchy indie-synth-rock songs with a clear and unique personality to them. They're debut EP Wizard of Ahhhs came out in august and can be downloaded in its entirety for free from their website. Right now they appear to be in the UK touring to promote said EP. I'll be sure to keep an eye out for these kids inevitable arrival in Montreal. Although the song "I'm not gonna teach your boyfriend how to dance with you" has been widely blogged about - even bringing about a cover by Kate Nash - it's not my favorite. Which is you ask? i'm so glad you did.
