The Wackness is a movie about a kid named Luke Shapiro living in New York city during the 90's. The soundtrack - and in my opinion the movie - is great. Apparently everyone in the audience for the Los Angeles premier was given a purple mix tape. Fortunately, its up for download!

Of Montreal Release: Skeletal Lamping
Athens based Of Montreal is allegedly named after our city because of a Montreal girl the singer used to be in love with. What can be learned from this? Things we already knew, Montreal has all the cute alt girls.
They're new album Skeletal Lamping is chock-full of the requisite quirk and grandeur the band is known for and die hard fans won't be disappointed. That being said, if you didn't like Of Montreal before, you still won't like them. They're on tour in support of the new album and will be here on October 29th at Metropolis. I caught them last time they were in the city and was thoroughly impressed. I've never seen so many over the top costumes and props in any bands live show before. A spectacle to say the least.
The first stand out track, for me was St.Exquisite's Confessions; the first line really jumped out at me.
